Empowering young leaders

The Young Changemakers has significantly strengthened the leadership, confidence, and political voice of young people, particularly young women, in climate-affected communities in Pakistan. Through our programmes, more than 100 young people across Pakistan and the UK have gained training in climate justice, gender equity, democratic participation, and community organising.

Measuring real change

Our impact is measured through both compelling numbers and invaluable lived experiences. We’ve directly trained and engaged over 100 young people across Pakistan and the UK through workshops, dialogues, and leadership programmes. Many participants report increased confidence in public speaking, a stronger understanding of climate impacts, and greater ability to advocate for their rights. In flood-affected communities, young women have moved from silence to leading peer discussions on girls’ education and climate resilience. We were also selected as a winner of the Gamechanger Fund by the Global Fund for Children.

Lives transformed, communities strengthened

The young people who have benefited most from our work are those living in climate-affected and resource-constrained communities in Pakistan, particularly young women and girls whose education and opportunities have been disrupted by flooding and displacement. Through our programmes, they gained leadership training, climate literacy, and confidence in public speaking and community organising. Participants who once felt unheard now facilitate discussions, advocate for girls’ education, and engage their families and schools in conversations about climate resilience and gender justice. In the UK, young people from diverse and migrant backgrounds have also benefited.

“The Young Changemakers gave me the confidence to speak up. Now, I lead discussions in my school about climate change and girls’ education. It changed my life.”

Aisha, Programme Participant, Pakistan

We want people to leave this page with one clear message: when young people — especially young women in climate-affected communities — are trusted, trained, and supported, they lead transformative change. The Young Changemakers is not just running programmes; we are building confidence, voice, and long-term leadership in places where climate injustice and gender inequality intersect. Our impact is rooted in Pakistan and strengthened through global solidarity, ensuring that frontline experiences shape international conversations. Above all, we want people to remember that meaningful climate and gender justice work must be led by those most affected — and young people are not the future of change; they are leading it now.
