WHO WE ARE

The Young Changemakers is a youth-led feminist movement based in Reading (UK) and Rawalpindi (Pakistan). We began as a grassroots initiative—united by the belief that art is resistance, and young people are not the future—they are the now.
We create spaces for girls, young women, trans and nonbinary youth to lead, create, and reimagine justice in their communities through creative and political expression.

OUR PRINCIPLES & VALUES

Our work is anchored in deep feminist, decolonial, and justice-based principles.

INTERSECTIONAL FEMINISIM
We centre those most marginalised—girls, women, trans, queer, disabled, working-class, and displaced youth—in every aspect of our work.

INCLUSIVE JUSTICE
We approach climate justice through a social, feminist, and anti-colonial lens, amplifying voices of those most affected yet least heard.

YOUTH-LED COLLECTIVE POWER
Young people design, lead, and own every step of this movement—from grassroots storytelling to global advocacy.

FEMINIST FINANCING
We promote trust-based, accessible, and redistributive funding models that resource youth-led and grassroots feminist action.

ART AS RESISITANCE
Our creative work—through theatre, film, and music—is a tool for healing, truth-telling, mobilisation, and liberation.

POLITICAL EDUCATION
We create dialogue spaces for critical consciousness, intersectional learning, and unlearning shame.

GLOBAL SOLIDARITY, LOCAL ACTION
We are rooted in local realities, but act in solidarity with feminist struggles worldwide.
🕊️ Peace, Safety & Dignity
We create trauma-informed, survivor-centred spaces that prioritise healing, safety, and radical care.

“Our art is our activism. Our feminism is inclusive. Our leadership is young. Our movement is global.”
